On a sunny, crisp day in early September, a friend and I meandered over the border to visit three Québec farmers’ markets. All small—and interestingly, without any prepared food vendors—the markets were notable for their beautiful vegetables, copious amounts of honey, and meat for sale in plugged-in, portable chest freezers. The route from Sutton’s market, to the market in Lac Brome, to the more urban market in Granby, makes for an enjoyable day trip from Vermont, with the lovely town of Sutton definitely worth a stop.
